Idiots. Damn idiots, i tell you.
Why is it that some people like to make the simplest thing into a pain-in-the-ass?
Imagine this:
Your mom/dad wants to go to KLCC but doesn't want to drive there for fear that his tired old legs won't be able to handle the clutch. So he/she decides to take the LRT.
When your mom goes to the ticket counter to purchase her ticket (at the special 'senior citizen' price) she is told that:-
1. She has to go to Jalan Sultan Muhammad's LRT Information Counter.
2. She has to fill up a form.
3. She has to bring 2 passport sized photographs.
4. She has to bring a copy of her IC.
Then, and only then will she received her senior citizens LRT card via (snail) mail.
So What?
These are senior citizens. They have trouble getting around. Why is it so difficult to just look at their MyKad to ascertain whether they qualify? Our dates of birth are on it. We don't go around without our identifications.
So what's so difficult?
Didn't we boast how the MyKad was supposed to make things a whole lot more convenient for Malaysian citizens? Where does that come in this case?
Senior citizens are the most neglected segment in Malaysia and also All over the world.
Isn't it sad when you work all your life to make a better future for yourself, your family and your country. Only to find that you are discarded like a pair of old panties when you're old. All those years of service!
I bet someone's getting something somewhere... maybe producing the special "Senior Citizen's Card".
Ugh.

bolehland, di mana semua process digubal untuk kebaikan kroni, dan bukan rakyat
U r right my friend -Malaysia must do away with it's red-tapes bureaucracy long ago.
Like you mentioned, the state-of-the-art IC, whom we possessed now that eases us at the immigration check- point, electronic recognition , etc, - why the hell would they keeps on paper-pushing -as this is the usual Malaysian way of life.
Oh btw, was that one of your old-folks in that predicament??? Should complaint to the Public Complaints Bureau.
Happy Brand New year to you. bad News for me - a girl turned me down. ;)Yahaha.
So, a bit down.
