Five days to go. It's been well over 4 years since our friend Dole-lah took to the throne of this god-forsaken kingdom. We have no one else to blame but ourselves for handing over the keys to our treasures to a thief.. and an incompetent thief too. Now the question is, will we choose to forget his trickeries and his lies? Are we going to allow ourselves to forget his utter hopelessness and his manipulations?
Of course not. Because you have me to remind you.
Ladies and gentlemen, please find below a copy of the 2004 BN Manifesto. Go through it and remember it.. especially when you are casting your votes. Essentially, you are choosing to either be the fool who lets himself be lied to (many times over) simply because he can 'live' ('cari makan') OR be a person who has a strong back bone, who stands up for his fellow man, who will not tolerate injustices done to himself or to his neighbor.
Choose wisely. Let's not think of only ourselves but think of yourself as part of a big family. You may be living in comfort but think of your neighbor. Do you care for him? Do you care if your non-bumi friends are not being given the same opportunities they deserve based on their merits? Do you care for your malay, chinese and indian friends who are being lied to blatantly?
Do you care for the truth? Do you care for fairness and accountability? Do you care if a crook/criminal gets away with stealing your money?
If you do, I thank god for you.
If you don't, god help us all. You may be the reason why these crooks/criminals are given the power to open everybody's purses and steal their hard earned money. You share the blame.
I love you. I love you with all my heart. I don't have the heart to see you being lied to. I can't stand it when an injustice is being done to you. I don't see your color, race or religion, I see you as my brothers and sisters. I wish so much for you, for us. I know you deserve better than these lies. I know you deserve the truth. We can be a better people as individuals and as a nation.
You are actually more beautiful than you really think. You are kind, caring and honest. That is the most beautiful thing in the world. I want the world to see you for who you really are and not who BN thinks you should be. I want you to stand up for me too. Because I know you love me as well.
Let's remember what we were promised in 2004 and why we voted for this lying feeble old man to be our premier.

Let's go through it one by one. Please indulge me.
1. BN ensures that no group is neglected or left behind, and that each citizen has a stake in nation-building.
Malays, Chinese and Indians are left behind. Only the cronies have a stake in nation 'building'.
2. BN ensures that each community is represented in line with the practice of genuine power sharing.
Genuine power sharing. MIC & MCA & Gerakan are UMNO hamba abdi. Running dogs. What 'genuine' power sharing? What representation do we have?
3. BN will continue to promote peace, prosperity and harmony among all Malaysians.
Is that why Hishamudin waved around his keris and said that it will be covered in the blood of the chinese?
4. BN gives priority to national unity and will ensure one system of government for all Malaysians.
National unity is the furthest thing on their minds when they keep on threatening the people with a repeat of the events on May 13 1969.
5. BN addresses your needs by combating corruption and enhancing the quality of government services.
What about the Zakaria scandal? What about the PKFZ scandal? What about the damn Lingam scandal? Why did we have to protest/rally, for you to f#$%ing form an independent commission?
6. BN cares about your needs and will seek your views on important issues.
They did not seek my views when they changed the law on muslim women. They did not seek my views on the Rashid memo. They did not seek my views on the racial issues. They tear gassed me.
7. BN recognises all groups including young people, women and rural folk as national assets. All must be involved in nation building.
That's why they take away our rights. Because we are just 'assets' not thinking, feeling beings.
8. I am the No.1 public servant.
On 10 November 2007, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi uttered the words "Saya pantang dicabar" (The Sun, Saturday November 10, 2007: Reject demos and use polls, PM urges public) when it was apparent that the bad press against the BERSIH march could not be enforced. So who is the servant here? Him, or us? If he cannot be challenged, then are we by default the challenged ones.
Right. You are No 1 public servant. You were busy opening your relative's Nasi Kandar shop in Australia when Johor was hit by the floods. Ya, I'm so retarded I believe you.
9. BN upholds the diversity of religious practice, language and culture.
On 24 January 2008, an unconfirmed report was was published stating that between 22 January 2006 to 13 June 2007 (a duration of one year and four months), a total of 79 hindu temples in Malaysia were demolished. Uhuh, I'm so dumb I believe you.
10. BN will nurture humanitarian values and civic consciousness.
On 10 September 2007, an opposition rally at Batu Burok was violently disbanded with 7 people injured - 2 with gunshot wounds - when 500 policemen descended on the rally.
On 10 November 2007, the BERSIH call for free and fair elections rally was violently disbanded - with numerous arrests - when 1000 policemen and FRU officers used tear gas and (chemical laced) water cannons.
On 27 November 2007, the Hindraf rally which highlighted the plight of minority Indian were treated likewise.
On December 09, 2007, the government declared it illegal for the Malaysian Bar Council to have a Human Rights Day Walk, even though this was an annual event.
Nuff' said. (Humanitarian values and civic consciousness, it seems)
11. Everyone has a stake and a voice in Malaysia under BARISAN NASIONAL.
I have a stake but my voice is not heard. In fact they try to silence people like me. Oh, I guess I don't come UNDER Barisan Nasional (nobody owns my balls). People actually fear being arrested for their views.
● BARISAN NASIONAL is strongly committed to Parliamentary democracy, which gives each citizen a say in the administration of this nation.
Again, I did not have a say. They are not commited to parliamentary democracy when they arrested the people who went to parliament to hand over a memorandum protesting Rashid's extention. 'Committed' my gangrene infested toe nail.
● BARISAN NASIONAL safeguards the interests of all citizens. We listen to and act on the hopes and aspirations of all groups regardless of age, gender, ethnic background and religion.
Oh yeah? Then abolish the NEP and treat us equally. Give all races a fair deal. BN politicians themselves have said "I am not interested" on many occasions. Especially the peeps from the PM's office. They don't l'isten to and act on', the sequence is like this: first they ignore, after that tear gas and water cannon, then deny, after that ignore some more.... and THEN do something positive about it, IF EVER.
● BARISAN NASIONAL calls upon all groups to participate in nation-building. Young people, women and rural folk in particular, make up a large proportion of the population. They must be given the opportunities to participate and contribute.
I'm a young person and I'm female. I would have to bribe my way through to 'participate'. So the 'call to participate' is just shit that doesn't float. Like Melayu Lama says, "That shit don't float, man."
12. BARISAN NASIONAL will continue to promote peace, stability and harmony among all Malaysians.
Yep, by dividing us into racial groups and threatening us with civil war. Some genius.
● All ethnic groups are represented in the BARISAN NASIONAL. Power sharing is genuine, along with a strong spirit of togetherness and ‘give and take’.
Power sharing? Oh, among the cronies, you mean? Barisan Nasional's modus operandi is to ignore the smaller voices. And like they said before, 'only the majority matter'. Again, what genius democracy. You have to go to school in the most prestigious tree school to learn this 'rare' form of democracy.
● Islam is accorded its rightful position as the official religion of Malaysia. We believe in a tolerant and progressive Islam. Freedom to worship other religions is guaranteed by the Constitution.
Firstly, there is no 'a tolerant and progressive Islam'. Kepala hotak la. How many versions/types of Islam do they have? They were just trying to get Kelantanese votes by playing the religion card. Insinuating that there is another type of Islam is HERESY. People like them give Islam a bad name. Rasuah ambik, tapi babi haraaaaammm...podah!Cit!
Freedom to worship other religions? Does Lina Joy ring a bell?
● There will be one system of government for all people. We will not tolerate divisiveness from extremism.
Extremism. Funny, they used that word. I think banning the word 'Allah', Baitullah, Kaabah from non muslims is extreme. Don't you?
● We respect the separation of powers provided under the Constitution, with each institution – the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary – playing their respective roles to ensure a system of checks and balances and the rule of law.
On 19 September 2007, the country was rocked by the tainting of the Judiciary by the Executive branches of the country in what is now termed as the Lingam-Gate scandal. Not withstanding its possible ramifications, the government did nothing to pursue it and denied any possible alluding that there was substance to the Lingam-Gate scandal.
On 25 September, the Haidar Panel was set up, but was infamously termed as 'toothless' because of its obvious shortcomings. On 13 December 2007, the Haidar Commission was set up, and to date is still continuing its 'investigation' on the matter.
So what 'separation of powers' are they talking about when the Executive institution meddles with the Judicial institution? The Judiciary should not be under the control of the Executives. They are separate.
● We believe in fair and equitable sharing of the fruits of economic growth. Development must benefit all areas of the country and all groups. Those in need will continue to receive support. No group will be left behind.
Uhuh... and you do this when? Every 5 years.. during elections. Even then, BN manipulated the statistics to make themselves look good (eg. poverty rates). Lying to yourself and lying to the people. How nice.
Fair and equitable sharing of the fruits of economic growth.. oooo..is that why contractors who screwed up still receive more and more projects? That's why they paid more than RM500 for a screw driver? It's sharing right? Sharing 'commission' la. Like they say in UMNO, "Kalau buat kerja bukan kerana ikhlas, tetapi kerana E-Class."
Oh, and don't forget about the 'fair' and 'equitable' NEP. .
13. Your opinions and views continue to matter as BARISAN NASIONAL endeavours to implement people centred policies.
Riiiigghhttt. More like, "We only listen to praise and a$$ kissing but we tear gas those who criticize us as we endeavor to implement UMNO crony centred policies."
To address your need for better services and more accountable government, BARISAN NASIONAL will: ● Continue the all-out campaign against corruption, without fear or favour.
On 28 February 2007, former senior Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) officer Mohamad Ramli Manan has accused the ACA's Director-General Zulkipli Mat Noor of corrupt practices.
On 24 August 2007, 37 charges against Port Klang assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Md Deros and five of his business partners were dropped.
● Make National Schools the school of choice through quality improvements, including better teaching of mother tongue languages, as well as safeguard the position of national-type schools today. - Foster student interaction to enhance national unity. - Improve the working environment for teaching professionals. - Enhance higher education institutions to produce high calibre graduates.
They do this by banning students from having political opinions, by making our students so unmarketable because of their inability to speak English (the most common language used internationally) and by making our universities fall so low in the international rankings. We have so many low quality universities and not even one that we can be proud of. Malu with Singapore. High calibre graduates? Ask any HR personnel and listen to them bitch about the local grads.
I'm just generalizing here, there ARE good marketable graduates, but the education system is as such that we are creating more mules than tigers. Oh, and the matriculation (matrikulasi) crap is just to delay the grads from entering the job market. It's a delay tactic to lower the unemployment rate.
Also, when you think about it, in other countries, you can graduate by age 21 and actually get somewhere up the ladder by age 24. In Malaysia, we start work at 24 or 25, and are still nowhere at age 30. Because the economy is not growing in tangent with the rise of labour.
Ah, this deserves an entire different post.. too much to say.
● Improve the application of Syariah law in the country, and ensure Muslim women have recourse to a fair and just legal system.
On 28 December 2005, an amendment was passed to the the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) (Amendment) Bill 2005 of Malaysia which:
1. Made polygamy easier
2. Increase a Muslim husband’s power to divorce
3. Enabled a Muslim husband to lay financial claims on the woman’s property
4. Removed a Muslim husband’s responsibility of maintenance in cases of polygamy or divorce
5. Enabled a Muslim husband to claim 'harta sepencarian' from his wife or existing wives, in cases of polygamy or divorce.
● Continue to promote a culture of zero-tolerance for corruption.
Zero tolerance... wow... big words from BN. Say that to Zakaria Deros, hollywood mansion guy.
● Introduce a code of ethics and integrity for the public and private sector, political parties and civil society.
You mean the piece of shit 'Islam Hadhari' code of ethics? That flimsy piece of paper you plagiarized?
● Nurture a more open and participative society, working together with NGOs.
What did Nazri mean when he said he will treat the Bar Council like NGOs? I guess he meant that he'll treat them like 3rd class citizens la. Open and participative society? Working together with NGOs? Oh, I get it, only when they kiss your a$$ and not when they have anything smart to say.
I'm such an idiot, I believe you.
● Improve the gender sensitivity of the police force.
Well, this is true. They deployed soooo many women cops during the March of the Roses during valentine's. How sensitive.
● Improve responsiveness to the public's complaints and concerns.
Go to the police station to report a robbery(or anything) and the policeman will either: (a) refuses to take the report, (b)tries to discourage you from making a report asks you what do you expect him to do with this report or (c) tells you not to expect anything to be solved after lodging the report.
"With this resolve, we will convince the people, through example and concrete proof, to continue to support the BARISAN NASIONAL government towards realising the hopes and aspirations of the Malaysian people."
I see NO EXAMPLE AND NO CONCRETE PROOF as promised.
This was BNs 2004 Election Manifesto. Don't be suckers, guys. Show that you care! Vote wisely and please think of long term consequences. Let's not be a stagnant country... let's make our own choices and let's be dynamic. Our government serves US. We are important. They NEED us.
Let's get back a caring society. Let's give a shit about each other. Let's give a shit about this country. Let's give a shit about our future. Don't let race and religion divide us.
I GIVE A SHIT.

Now that, KLConfidential, was quite a lengthy piece. Knowing you, this one could have been made into a novella if only you weren't constrained by the need to be brief.
To chip in my 2 cents, I completely agree with everything you said, and everything you wanted to say but didn't.
The way BN has been going on, they seem to want to lay claim ownership to anything and everything that's been going right in the country (which isn't much).
Seriously speaking, much of what they're trumpeting about is due not so much from what they've done, but what they have benefited from the global economy.
A prime example would be our so called economic 'growth' this year (and especially in Q4), which has more to do with the rising price of oil than any overt attempt by the ruling coalition.
Another would be how the ringgit appears to have fared better against the dollar, which is predominantly due to the fact that the dollar is weakening rather than the ringgit is strengthening.
While I do admit that there have been some gains made under this administration, much of this appears either superficial, cosmetic or short term.
A refined educated peice KL Con fidential, esp. for the morons.
I like Pak Lah's tagline "work with me, not for me" which has proven to be rhethorical.
Your piece reminds me of Bakri Musa's
